COMPANY › SUSTAINABILITY

Every device we sell is one less device built.

Refurbished Apple gear isn't a side project for byte — it's the whole shop. Mining less aluminium, drilling less lithium, sending less to landfill. Just by buying a 2-year-old iPhone instead of a new one.

THE BYTE FLYWHEEL

Trade-in → Refurb → Sell → Repair → Repeat.

01 Take in

Trade-ins from individuals + end-of-lease devices from local businesses. Most arrive working, just unloved.

02 Refurb

40-point check at Solihull. Apple-genuine parts wherever they exist. Battery replaced if under 90% health.

03 Sell on

Listed online and on the shop floor with a lifetime byte warranty. Buyer gets near-new device at refurb price.

04 Repair

Years later, the same device comes back for a screen or battery. We fix instead of replace. Cycle continues.

Honest about what we don't do

We're a single Solihull shop. We don't have a carbon-neutral certificate. We don't run our own delivery fleet. We can't tell you the exact tonnage we've offset, because we haven't tried to claim numbers we can't prove. What we can promise is: every device we sell has been kept alive by humans here in Birmingham, not made fresh from scratch in a factory abroad. That's the bit we control. That's what the shop does.
